Abstract:
Massive insect, birds and bats annually migrates, which play a significant role on population dynamics, community interaction, ecosystem services. The effective observation of aerial migrants is essential to reveal their spectacular migration phenomena and inner mechanism. In recent years, with rapid developments of remote sensing technologies like insect/bird radar, weather radar, lidar, etc., there are many important progress with respect to both small-scale and large-scale migtaion researches. At this exicting stage, the session will bring together radar engineers, meteorologists, ecologiests, etc and provide a platform for communication and exchange ideas on state-of-the-art techiniques and new discoveries in radar aeroecology.
