Abstract:
Passive radar systems use existing transmitters of opportunity in the environment to perform tasks similar to active radar systems, such as target detection, tracking, and imaging. It has been an active field of research for several years. Its advantages, such as covert operation, reuse of existing EM spectra, and cost effectiveness, are attractive. Military and civilian interests, combined with advances in technological development, have recently stimulated research on passive radar. The aim of this Special Session is to collect papers that cover the latest advances in passive radar systems, techniques, and applications. We encourage the submission of original research papers, case studies, and industrial experiences related to passive radar technologies.
